Mandatory Excursions in the Master’s Programme “Architektur”*
Your distance learning master's programme in “Architektur”* encompasses the projects „Konzeptionell-experimenteller Entwurf“, „Konstruktiver Entwurf“, „Bauen im Bestand“ and „Öffentliche Bauten“. During four mandatory excursions, you will experience these projects first-hand: Together with fellow students, you will travel to architecturally significant sites in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, learn conceptual design methods, and work with experimental construction techniques. You will explore how to translate designs into constructive implementation and find ways to adapt existing buildings to modern standards. Additionally, you'll analyse the design of public buildings, such as football stadiums or churches. These practical insights prepare you well for your entry into the job market. Moreover, the excursions offer a fantastic opportunity to network with your fellow students.

As project assistant at an architecture firm, you are involved in project work across all phases of architectural creation – from the initial determination of requirements and preliminary design to the final handover of your construction.
As an employee in the public sector, you contribute to all types of public construction projects. Your creativity is employed in places such as planning departments, where you create designs, develop concepts, and oversee objects and maintenance.
As an employee in the planning department of developers, property developers, building contractors, or housing cooperatives, you apply your expertise to the development of individual design and planning services for a project, as well as in customer relations.

Proof of knowledge and experience in the field of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is required.
You can complete this course with us for free before starting your studies.
We require proof of your German language skills from prospective foreign students for the German language study programme. You can prove this to us as follows:

Our master's distance learning programme in “Architektur”* can be completed alongside a full-time job, family, or other projects: you fulfil your academic ambitions online with us, independent of time and location.

With your master's degree in “Architektur”*, you can work in almost any specialised area of architecture: whether as a designer, developer of details, or a professional on construction projects, what matters most is your passion for your field. With a master's degree, advancing to more responsible positions is also possible.
* This programme currently does not make you eligible for admission by a German architectural chamber.
This means you cannot acquire chamber approval and therefore cannot use the professional title "Architekt" in Germany, i.e. architect. Without this title, you are not permitted to sign off on plans. For some construction projects, the primary responsibility must therefore lie with a certified individual (Architekt).
