• Completed undergraduate degree with at least 180 ECTS in the field of data science, computer science, mathematics or statistics

• Your degree must be from a state or state-approved higher education institution/university

• You must have achieved a final grade of at least “satisfactory” or Grade C equivalent to the German grade “befriedigend” in your previous undergraduate degree

• Proof of at least one year of qualified professoinal experience completed prior to the start of study programme (must be acquired after completing your undergraduate degree).

Alternatives to the minimum grade (120 ECTS credits)

If you have completed your bachelor's degree with a grade of "sufficient" or grade D equivalent to the German grade “ausreichend” (up to 4.0), you can still be admitted to a master's or MBA program. For this, you need:

• A bachelor's degree (grade 3.5 - 4.0) from a state or state-approved higher education institution/university
  and

• Relevant study achievements from a master's/MBA programme at a state or state-approved higher education institution/university relevant to the desired master's/MBA programme, with a minimum of 40 ECTS credits
  or

• Un Máster/MBA relevante y finalizado de una institución universitaria/universidad estatal o reconocida oficialmente por el Estado
  or

• Cualificaciones relevantes fuera del ámbito académico que pueden ser reconocidas, como formación continua/formación en nivel GQF7 o, en el caso de cualificaciones extranjeras como postgraduate diplomas, equivalentes al nivel GQF7 y relevantes para el programa de Máster/MBA deseado, con un minimum of 40 ECTS credits

Exception: To be admitted to the master's programme in Architecture (120 ECTS credits), you must have completed your undergraduate degree with a final grade of at least "good” or grade B equivalent to the German grade "good" (up to 2.5).

If you have completed your Bachelor's degree with a grade of “Adequate” (up to 4.0), you can still be admitted to a Master's or MBA program. For this you need:

• A Bachelor's degree (grade 3.5 - 4.0) from a state or state-recognized university AND

• Relevant coursework from a Master's/MBA at a state or state-recognized university, suitable for the Master's/MBA you are aiming for, amounting to at least 40 ECTS points

OR

• A relevant completed Master's/MBA from a state or state-recognized university

OR

• Relevant creditable non-university qualifications such as further education/training at DQR7 level or - in the case of foreign qualifications such as postgraduate diplomas - equivalent to DQR7 level, suitable for the Master's/MBA you are aiming for, amounting to at least 40 ECTS points

Tip: You can also have these relevant achievements checked and, if necessary, have them credited or recognized by us for your subject-related studies by applying for recognition.

Exception: For admission to the M.A. Architecture program (120 ECTS credits), the undergraduate degree must still have been completed with a minimum grade of “good” (2.5).

Is your undergraduate degree not in the required subject field for the 120 ECTS programme's admission requirements? You can still apply! You'll have to take 2 specific courses from your study programme and successfully complete them before you can start your studies.

Recognition of knowledge and abilities acquired outside of higher education is possible in principle.

The alternative admission requirements represent individual exceptions to the aforementioned General Admission Requirements and ensure that you are qualified to access a master's degree programme. Admission is granted at the discretion of the institution.

Depending on your personal circumstances, you might be required to provide proof of your English language proficiency. Your skills would need to match the B2 level of the Common European Framework (CEF). We accept the following English language skills certificates*:

• TOEFL (minimum 80 points) or

• IELTS (minimum 6,0 points) or

• Duolingo English Test (minimum 95 points) or

• Cambridge Certificate (minimum Grade B)

Note: Proof must be provided before starting the study programme and must not be older than five years. Is English your native language, or have you graduated from an English-speaking school or institution of higher education? Then you do not need to prove your English language proficiency.
